Getting to Kungsbacka

Kungsbacka is located only 28 km south of Gothenburg. You can get here by train, plane, car, and boat.

Trains

The Øresund train stops at Kungsbacka station at least once an hour. You can also ride the commuter train between Gothenburg and Kungsbacka, which takes 25 minutes. You can get to different parts of the municipality easily using local transportation.

Car and boats

Ferries go to Gothenburg daily from Fredrikshamn in Denmark and Kiel in Germany. If you have your own car, you can then take the E6 south towards Malmö from the ferry terminal. Kungsbacka is located approximately 35 kilometers south of the ferry terminal.

Ferries from Grenå in Denmark arrive in Halmstad daily. Kungsbacka is located approximately 125 kilometers north of Halmstad, and is most easily reached by car on the E6 going north.

Flights

There are two airports near Kungsbacka: Göteborg Landvetter Airport and Halmstad Airport. There are direct flights from major cities in Europe and from most of the larger cities in Sweden.

Airport buses run from Landvetter to Gothenburg Central Station. From there, you can most easily switch to the commuter rail line to Kungsbacka station. From Halmstad Airport, local buses run to Halmstad center, where you change to regional trains that will take you to Kungsbacka. There are also car rental services at the airports.

Göteborg Landvetter Airport is located 50 kilometers east of Kungsbacka.
