Onsala Church

Onsala, Kungsbacka

Onsala Church was build in the 17th century. The church walls contain the remains of an earlier Medieval church. The church has an unusually elaborate Baroque interior and beautiful early 18th century ceiling frescoes.

Privateer Captain Lars Gathenhielm and his wife are buried in the Gathenhielmska Chapel.

Onsala Kyrkby is a typical example of a medieval village built around the parish church. The church stables date from the 19th century.
